AT&T® is aiming to perform 5G demos at a resort in Hawaii’s Wailea and Georgia International Plaza in Atlanta. It has filed special temporary authority applications to conduct the demos. The one in Atlanta is slated to occur during a tailgate prior to the game between Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboys on November 18, 2018. On the other hand, the demo in Hawaii is set to coincide with December’s Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit.

For the Hawaii demo, the Telco giant plans to use 28 gigahertz and 39 gigahertz spectrum for 5G New Radio experimental systems. The demo slated to take place in Atlanta will be confined to 28 gigahertz, though.

The best internet provider, AT&T®, said that it is working with Jaunt and Nokia for the demo in Atlanta to show how 5G is allowing the future of mobile content as well as immersive experiences. The Hawaii demonstration will underline the power of 5G mobile technology and immersive storytelling; some celebrities will guide demo participants through an interactive and immersive look into 5G lives and real-time volumetric capture. The Dallas-based Telco giant says that it would soon share details about the names of the Hawaii demo celebrities and concerning the experiences.

In both cases, the company will use 5G air links to demo several applications that necessitate extremely high speeds and low latencies, made possible by advanced 5G wireless communication systems.

The Telco mentioned in the application, “The results will provide valuable information to users whose feedback could be used to enable product development and system optimization, as well as to improve future system standards and the deployment processes.”

The demonstration at the facilities of the resort named Grand Wailea will comprise communications amid up to three fixed based stations and ten user equipment units placed within hundred meters of base station antennas. The demo base stations and user equipment antennas will be indoors with antennas at less than six meters height above the floor in a building within the perimeter of the resort.

The demo base stations in the site will have connectivity to servers and the web to provide content through the interface over the 5G air for the demo purposes. AT&T® said that the user equipment can give services to many devices via wireless access points, connected to the equipment through Ethernet.

The Atlanta demo will comprise communications amid up to two fixed base stations and four user equipment units placed inside hundred meters of the former antennas. The base stations and user equipment antennas will be outdoors with antennas placed at less than four meters height above the ground.

The timeline for the special temporary authority sought by AT&T® for its Atlanta 5G demo is for November 01 to November 30, 2018, while for the one at the resort in Wailea it is from November 01 to December 31, 2018.
