On June 12, 2019, AT&T® announced the launch of its first mobile phone. The company is all set to launch its Samsung Galaxy S10 phone that employs the AT&T® developer program on June 17th, 2019. The phone supports 5G network system and this innovation ecosystem is about to kick start the next generation of connected devices and define the possibilities of the best internet or 5G in everyone’s life.  However, you will be able to own this new generation phone only if you are a member of the developer program of AT&T® or a business customer of this fastest internet provider.

This phone is not new to the field because it has been already debuted last month for Verizon customers in the cities that have access to 5G. While the business customers will have to pay $999 to own this 5G-ready phone, the AT&T® developers will get it free of cost at the company’s shape conference that is scheduled on July 22nd, 2019 at Los Angeles. The recent announcement about the launch of the phone has not released any details regarding when the regular customers will be able to purchase this phone and how much will it cost them. AT&T® supported Samsung Galaxy S10 5G phone is speculated to support both sub-6 spectrum and mmWave. So, it could be the first new generation phone that will be available to the customers of AT&T.

The Chief Marketing Officer, AT&T® Business, Mo Katibeh said, “Businesses are leading the charge on the nation’s first mobile 5G network, and this is the next step in unlocking 5G’s full potential for those early adopters and innovators. With mobile 5G a core tenet of our 5G strategy for businesses, we’re making this amazing new device available so that the business community can begin creating new experiences and drive the next industrial revolution through unprecedented mobile capabilities.”

One of the representatives of the company said that the business users and developers of AT&T® will be able to experience high-speed internet provide by 5G only in ‘very limited parts’ of the company’s first batch of cities. On a related note, the mmWave spectrum on the 5G network of Verizon as well was quite limited when they launched Samsung S10 5G in Chicago. However, the 5G-ready phone proved to be extremely capable under the right circumstances. According to a report, the company is apparently looking for some beta testers in order to make sure that they are on the right track. This is, indeed, the reason that the regular customers will not be able to purchase the phone at the beginning.
