Cox® Extends Gigabit Internet Services Across 40 Percent of its Footprint

Fastest Internet Provider
Gigabit Internet Services

Cox Communications® has announced a major breakthrough in its gigabit internet services with its coverage extended to around 40 percent of the customers across its entire service footprint. This is a significant turnover for Cox®, as the expansion of its gigabit DOCSIS 3.1 internet services will help in consolidating its position as the fastest internet provider and Telco in the country. Cox® has made this announcement at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) show in Las Vegas.

With this new improvement in coverage, Cox® expects to further expand its coverage with 1-gig service across 90 percent of its footprint by the end of 2019. With this expansion, customers can access residential gigabit internet speeds termed GIGABLAST in all its key markets across the country. DOCSIS 3.1 is deployed at a rapid pace over Cox’s network, which will also help in the quick deployment of its Gigablast services.

Pat Esser, Cox® CEO said at the CES, “As one of the first providers of gigabit internet speeds, we are excited to rapidly expand that choice to more of our customers nationwide. The innovative technology and devices displayed at CES are all powered by broadband, and our latest investments help bring these connected applications to the businesses and residents of the communities we serve.”
