The XFINITY® Digital Store of Comcast has joined “Movies Anywhere” service, with the cable provider becoming its 7th retail partner, and first pay-TV partner. The other digital retailers or partners of it comprise Amazon Prime Video, Apple iTunes, Google Play, Walmart Vudu, FandangoNow, and Microsoft Movies and TV.

The customers of XFINITY® TV can now sync their accounts with the service, combine eligible film buys from the said Digital Store of XFINITY® with those from other digital retailers of it, and access them on their XFINITY® X1, the Stream application, and other TV platforms of XFINITY®.

A year since the debut, Movies Anywhere signed up around six million registered users, who added over 150 million bought films to their collections. For a limited period of time, XFINITY® subscribers who first synchronize with one of the other participating digital retailers will get a digital copy of the animated film titled “Happy Feet” for free. Comcast® subs who sync for the first time with a couple of participating Movies Anywhere retailers are also eligible to get copies of films namely “The Fate of the Furious,” and “The Martian.”

“XFINITY® X1 is the only platform that provides customers with seamless, integrated access to all of their entertainment choices within one user interface, whether that content is live, on demand, streamed, recorded, rented or owned,” said Daniel Spinosa, Comcast Cable’s Vice President of Entertainment Services. “And by joining Movies Anywhere, XFINITY® TV customers can now easily link their accounts across participating digital retailers and watch their consolidated digital library on X1, or anywhere in the country via the XFINITY® Stream app and portal.”

With Comcast’s addition to the lineup of Movies Anywhere, these collections owned by Comcast® subscribers will be accessible on the TV via XFINITY® On Demand for the first time, and on devices through the XTINITY® Stream application and web portal.
